RTI requests can be lodged at any police station, says BKS Ravindra, additional secretary to Minister for Media. Police stations must accept RTI applications made to them. However, the Police are still in the process of appointing Information Officers. This should be complete within the next few weeks.
The Information Officers will be the District Assistant Superintendents of Police (ASPs). The police force are currently participating in trainings held by the Ministry of Mass Media on Right to Information.
Although the appointments of Information Officers are still incomplete, people can still lodge their RTI applications at any police station.
